I was very excited to learn that my debut children's book: Can We Play Again? is a Mom's Choice Awards® Silver Recipient.
Can We Play Again? is a story told by a dog named Buddy. He shares the journey of his best friend and owner named Chloe. She is a young girl who becomes sad and doesn't want to play anymore. With the help of Buddy, an art therapist, and her family, Chloe is able to find her way back to playing again.
I am very grateful for the award, as I am very passionate about my work with the creative arts in education and therapy. I hope that this book brings awareness to the field of Creative Arts Therapy. At the same time, I hope that it helps children who have to see therapists to feel less afraid of their visits.
The book can be a useful resource for talking and teaching children about basic feelings of happiness and sadness.
