Thank You to All!

I want to thank each and every one of you for the support you showed during The Search’s book launch, release day party and blog tour.

Let me back up a little bit and set the context for why I’m so grateful.

If you’ve followed my past posts, some of this may be a wee bit repetitive.

It was a culmination of events in my life in 2009 that reignited my passion for creative writing. I needed to do something that gave me a sense of purpose and feeling of satisfaction, and for me that was writing.

I wrote The Descendant for me because I needed that creative outlet. It was the vampire story I had always wanted to read, but since I couldn’t find it, I decided to write it. Once the book was written, I was like, now what? Long story short, I decided to share my story with the world and published it without any idea of what to expect.

After finishing The Descendant in 2012, I released it with little fanfare because I didn’t know what I was supposed to be doing. Over the next year, I met readers, bloggers and other authors and guess what? People began reading my book and told me they enjoyed it! I can’t tell how great a feeling it is when someone reads your “baby” and tells you how much they’ve loved it, how they’re rooting for a certain character, how one of my characters has become their new book boyfriend, and how much they can’t wait for the next book in the series.

I also learned quite a bit over that year and armed with that information, I knew The Search’s book launch was going to be much different! I wanted a party and lots of fanfare, and darn it, I was going to make that happen!

The original publication date for The Search was August 27. When Amazon made the paperback available a week early, I decided to let everyone know. What I didn’t expect was an overwhelming request to release the e-book early. I figured what the heck and released the Kindle version 5 days earlier than expected. What happened after that still floors me.

Thanks to all of the fans, in less than 24 hours after being released, The Search became an Amazon Top Seller by landing in the Top 100 in the Horror & Occult category. What’s more? The Descendant also hit this list again. Both books in The Descendant Vampire Series were in the Top 100 in that category at the same time! That was completely unexpected and totally awesome. I recall receiving a message from a friend congratulating me on becoming a best seller. I had no idea what she was talking about until she told me to check my Amazon rankings. I’m still floored by the accomplishment and have all of you to thank!

The following weeks consisted of lots of parties celebrating The Search’s release.

The release day party was so much fun. Thank you to everyone who participated. I enjoyed reading your creative responses and interacting with you. The following week was the blog tour where The Search was met with a whole lot of 5 star reviews and awesome praise. Thank you to all of the bloggers who took the time to read the books and craft the reviews.

What a difference a year makes! I could never have seen all of this coming.

I’m thankful to everyone I’ve met over the past year who helped make The Search’s launch a success! I’m grateful to all of the readers who have chosen to read my books & recommend them to others. I thank all of you who took time out of your day to spend with me during the release day party and blog tour. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your support! I never imagined that my art, my stories, would reach so many people and be met with such enthusiasm and support!

I want to thank each and every one of you for the support you showed during ’s book launch, release day party and blog tour.

Stay tuned, as The Descendant Vampire Series will continue with a third book. And who knows, I may just write myself into a fourth book in this series!

I’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment below. Have you shared your art with others? How was it received? How did that experience leave you feeling?
