Materials: Paper, drawing materials, painting materials, scissors, glue or glue sticks, magazines for collage, ink pen.
The project can begin with finding two magazine images that will have a conversation or interaction together. Create a background or space for the images to have their interaction or dialogue by painting, drawing, or creating a collage.
The project can be left as a broad objective. It can also be modified to fulfill a more defined purpose. For example the dialogue could be about a specified topic such as child parent relationships or the background setting may be more specific such as a school yard. There are endless possibilities.
I have attached two different examples. The first example above is a collage of painted cardboard with two conversing images in a more abstract setting. The second example to the right is a pencil drawing with ink that has two images conversing in a park.
This art intervention can be used in a variety of settings with a variety of preteen + ages.
