DIY Custom Envelopes

Are you looking for a really great way to enclose holiday greetings and thank you notes?  Here is one that my friend, Janice, shared with me a week ago.  She learned it a very long time ago from someone who was teaching calligraphy, so we can’t adequately thank or credit that person.

Find any full page photographs from highly scenic magazines—the more beautiful the better.

We have some old issues of “Arizona Highways” magazines, but old calendars also work, and there will be plenty of those discarded soon.

Carefully pull apart an envelope of whatever size you need or that will best fit the photograph.  Using that as a template, carefully draw around the edges.  Then using that as a guide, you will know exactly where to fold your custom design.    Using the roll-on adhesives that scrap-bookers use you will be able to seal the edges perfectly.  Then just use an Avery label to address it by hand or by computer.  Enjoy!

P.S. to the artists:  you can also paint your own full page quick artwork and use that to create matching cards and envelopes!

Enjoy the holidays!
